Course objectives
The course aims at familiarizing students with the key concepts of game design (both analogue and digital), and their application in the context of tourism, cultural and heritage promotion.

After taking the course, students will be able to imagine, design, and prototype a playful experience aimed at touristic, heritage, or cultural promotion. Students will also be familiar with the main concepts of game design and game analysis and will be able to discuss a wealth of relevant case studies.

Course delivery
The course will be provided face-to-face in attendance and will include both traditional lectures and hands-on exercises.

The teacher will evaluate the student's participation during group activities, their engagement with the assigned texts, and will offer an assessment of the group project's strengths and weaknesses.

Twelve of the forty-eight hours will be spent with a professional working in the field of game design, who will offer insight on the profession, design tools, and assessment of the students' WIPs.

Program
The course will be held over 12 weeks, with 4-hour classes per week.
Each meeting will consist of a theoretical introduction, during which the class will discuss that week's reading assignment, and two-hours of lab-time during which the class, divided into group, will work on their project.
