Course objectives
The module has one objective: to give a basic idea of the Internet of Things instruments applied to measure environmental and climate variables.

Results of learning outcomes
The students will have the possibility to program an Internet of Things instrument and to send data to the Internet, in order to show the measurement of environmental and climate variables.

Program
The module will be done with Brendan Heery, expert of electronics. The module will start with the choice of a sensor or of an actuator. Then the students will learn how to program data acquisition and how to send data to the Web.

Course delivery
Every group of about four students will write a report explaining why they have chosen a sensor or an actuator. Therefore the framework of application has to be clear. The data acqisition will be also included in the report.

Learning assessment methods
At the end of the course the teachers will evaluate the report, providing a grade to it, without an oral examination at the end.
