Course objectives
Fashion and creativity are united by an inseparable bond. The course aims to provide students with the first tools to approach the fashion universe by interpreting its links with creativity.
In the first part of the course we will ask two questions: "why fashion never goes out of fashion" and "what link exists between fashion and creativity".The indispensable theoretical basis for approaching the fashion universe in its complexity will then be offered through a brief historical reconstruction of the link between fashion and creativity (from the second half of the twentieth century to the present) and through the presentation of methodological tools for approaching fashion studies.
In the concluding part of the course we will focus on three case studies: fashion and subcultures, the link between fashion industry and heritage and the "myth" of sustainable fashion.
