Course objectives

The objective of the course is to provide the students with an operative framework to successfully operate in Tourism. Specifically, the course will be developed around the opportunities to create a framework on how to manage the industrial tourism and the enterprise visits, on the basis of specific characteristics of the related business.

Knowledge and understanding skills

- ability to read the tourism market opportunities

- knowledge of the best practices in industrial tourism sector

- describe the main tourist attractions in a factory and their characteristics

- ability to present Industrial tourism case studies

 

Applying knowledge and understanding

- participate in the planning of industrial tourism experiences

- collaborate in the implementation of industrial tourism initiatives

- be able to use the main tools for the creation of an industrial tourism experience

 

Autonomy of judgement

- link the diverse declinations of the concept of Industrial tourism

- carry out evaluations of the main aspects of industrial tourism attractions.

 

Communication skills

The resulting multidisciplinary communication skills are the main outcome of the course. The student will be able to

- combine technical and managerial terminology relating to Industrial tourism and business culture

- contribute to the identification of new solutions to improve the quality of communication in the field of industrial tourism

 

Learning skills

- To develop learning skills useful for pursuing studies in Industrial Tourism and Business Culture with a high degree of autonomy.

At the end of the course, students should be able to recognise the main tools for creating an industrial tourism proposal and identify the critical issues inherent to a tourism product.

The Course is articulated in hours of interactive lecture time and includes the development of practical simulations. Moreover, business visits will be organized.

Learning assessment methods

The final exam will be in written form (project work) followed by an oral presentation.

Marks are awarded for individual assessment and declare the level of achievement and the grades of performance and satisfactory or unsatisfactory completion of course objectives:

- (28-30 cum laude): Excellent

- (25-27): Good

- (21-24): Satisfactory

- (18-20): Poor

< 18: Failed
