Course objectives
Aim of this module is to complement student’s interdisciplinary preparation in the tourism and territorial development sector with targeted environmental science contents, mainly aimed at identifying those natural resources usable to obtain energy.
Transfer knowledge about the characteristics of the environment that allows to exploit renewable energy.
Description of main sources of renewable energy with focus on solar thermal, hydropower, photovoltaic and biomass and their exploitation with small scale plants.
Combination of energy saving with renewable energy production toward a zero fossil fuel use.
Positive aspects of the transition toward increased energy saving and use of renewable energies on climate change mitigation, adaptation, social inclusion, tourism.

Understand climate change
Understand the opportunities related to the use of renewable energy for territory and tourism development
Criticize installations of renewable energy production in different domains
Evaluate the opportunities on renewable energy exploitation for Cultural Heritage
Evaluate the potential impact of renewable energies on the energy transition and climate change adaptation and mitigation

Frontal lectures delivered in presence.
In class exercises will be presented and discussed, with a collaborative work, to engage students.
The attendance is optional, anyway strongly recommended.

Learning assessment methods
The final assessment will be on online exam with delivery of written report as a groupwork, that will add point to the written/online exam.
The marks are assigned for the final individual evaluation and express the level of acculturation and ability obtained with respect to the objectives of the course; in particular:
- 30 cum laude: outstanding
- 28-30: excellent
- 25-27: good
- 21-24: discreet
- 18-20: mediocre
